The Mackay region is known for its terrific shows. Shows held annually are the Clermont Show, Pioneer Valley Agricultural Show, Mackay Regional Show, Sarina Annual Show and also the Clermont Anglican Flower Show. Visitors and alike can find fun and enjoyment at any one of these special events.

Firstly, the Clermont and Pioneer Valley events are classified as agricultural shows. Held in May and mid June respectively, each show features true Australian country displays, prize winning cattle and stock, exhibitions, and a fantastic array of rides, stalls and classic show entertainment. In the second last weekend of June, the Mackay Region Show exhibits its glory by attracting patronage from all over Australia. This is Mackay’s main civic celebration and features the largest and richest-paying selection of trade cattle found on the Australian show circuit.

In early August, the Sarina Annual Show is a main attraction. The show features interesting events like ring throwing and wood chopping, as well as competitions involving beef, poultry, dogs, cookery, horticulture, fruit, vegetables, photography, craftwork, art and school work sections. Another interesting Mackay show is the Clermont Anglican Flower Show, held on the first Saturday in September. It is situated at the Anglican Church Hall and the exquisite floral displays dazzle everyone.
